JAKARTA, Indonesia, June 14, 2025 — Aslan Energy Capital (AEC), a Singaporean firm specializing in clean energy infrastructure development, has entered into a binding Heads of Agreement (HoA) with Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (JIEP). The agreement paves the way for the development of the Aslan Jakarta Data Centre (AJDC), a cutting-edge, 40-megawatt hyperscale co-location facility that will operate entirely on certified renewable energy.

AJDC will be strategically situated within the JIEP industrial zone in East Jakarta, occupying a 40,000 m² site. Its design allows for housing up to 7,000 server racks. The Tier 4 data center is slated to be operational by the fourth quarter of 2027 and will incorporate substantial redundancy in all critical systems to ensure optimal uptime and operational reliability.
In a significant step for Jakarta’s data infrastructure, the facility will also feature a 120 MW-hour Battery Energy Storage System. Its primary power source will be renewable energy obtained through the JIEP collaboration, underscoring a strong dedication to energy sustainability and environmentally conscious growth. AJDC is being designed as a next-generation colocation data center, providing highly dependable uptime, minimal latency, and strong connectivity for businesses operating both locally and internationally.
Dr. Muthu Chezhian, CEO of Aslan Energy Capital, commented, “This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to powering the digital future with environmentally friendly, dependable, and scalable infrastructure that respects ecological limits while fostering economic development.” Aligned with Jakarta’s urban planning and environmental objectives, the facility is planned as a two-story vertical structure, utilizing modular and prefabricated components to enable rapid construction and minimize construction impact. With 40% of the land allocated to built infrastructure and 60% dedicated to a natural corridor featuring mature trees, AJDC is designed to be environmentally responsible in both its operation and appearance. Furthermore, the data center will employ hybrid air-cooled heat exchangers, a key innovation that eliminates the need for cooling towers and significantly reduces daily water consumption.
Satrio Witjaksono, President Director of JIEP, stated, “We are pleased to partner with Aslan Energy Capital to introduce a new paradigm for sustainable data infrastructure within Indonesia’s most strategically important industrial estate. This project will support national digital transformation objectives while establishing new environmental benchmarks.”
This collaboration emphasizes both organizations’ dedication to Indonesia’s shift towards renewable energy and intelligent industrial development, in accordance with the national strategy for sustainability, digitalization, and leadership in the green economy.
