CARDIFF, Wales, Dec. 3, 2024 — Atamis Procurement Software aims to change the perception of procurement careers.

Sian Lloyd and Gareth Burch, hosts of the Powering Procurement Podcast.

Introducing the Powering Procurement Podcast.

Through providing comprehensive source-to-contract procurement software to public and private sector clients, including the Cabinet Office and Admiral Insurance, Atamis has gained valuable insights into the procurement field.

“Elevating the profile of procurement is a key goal for Atamis,” states Phil Musgrave, Atamis CEO. “We sought to create a platform for procurement leaders to share expertise and showcase the diversity and rewards of procurement careers”.

Atamis launched the Powering Procurement Podcast in October, featuring a different industry leader every two weeks. Each episode, former BBC journalist Sian Lloyd and industry expert Gareth Burch (Atamis’ Product Director) interview a guest to discuss current issues and highlight the fulfilling aspects of a procurement career.

“As a newcomer to procurement, I was surprised by its significance when effectively implemented,” says Sian Lloyd. “Our guests examine key procurement challenges, which are relevant to professionals in various fields.”

Procurement often lacks a strategic voice, sometimes reporting to a COO or CFO. Especially with growing concerns about Scope 3 emissions, Atamis advocates for procurement’s inclusion in high-level strategic discussions.

“A company’s business partners and suppliers are crucial to its success in the 21st century,” says Podcast co-host Gareth Burch. “Lack of innovation and unmet ESG goals are potential consequences if leadership fails to view procurement as a strategic function instead of just a cost center.”

“That’s Atamis’ core purpose,” says Phil, the Atamis CEO. “We empower procurement professionals with the necessary tools to drive meaningful organizational change.”

“Whether it’s sustainable sourcing or implementing a social value-focused supplier program, procurement is vital to success”.
