MAGDEBURG, Germany and QUEDLINBURG, Germany , Feb. 7, 2025Quedlinburg has earned a stellar reputation for hospitality! The UNESCO World Heritage city in Saxony-Anhalt received Booking.com’s prestigious Traveller Review Award, earning the title of Germany’s most welcoming destination. This accomplishment extends beyond national recognition; Quedlinburg is also among the top ten most hospitable locations globally.

 

Booking.com, a leading travel platform, is celebrating its 13th annual Traveller Review Awards. Based on over 360 million verified guest reviews, 1.71 million travel partners were recognized for exceptional service and hospitality. Quedlinburg secured the top spot in Germany and is included in the global top ten of the world’s most hospitable destinations, alongside locations such as Sigiriya (Sri Lanka), Cazorla (Spain), and Urubici (Brazil).

A captivating travel destination with dedicated hosts

Quedlinburg enthusiastically received the Booking.com accolade. Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister of Tourism Sven Schulze highlighted the award’s significance: “It’s a tremendous honor that Quedlinburg is now not only Germany’s most hospitable destination but also ranks among the top ten worldwide. This recognition solidifies the city’s status as a compelling travel destination and underscores tourism’s importance to the region.”

Quedlinburg’s mayor Frank Ruch also expressed his delight: “We are officially one of the most hospitable places globally and even number one in Germany! This reflects the dedication of our residents, who, through their warmth, make Quedlinburg a true gem.”

With approximately 2,000 half-timbered houses spanning six centuries, charming lanes, and a unique historical atmosphere, Quedlinburg provides an unforgettable travel experience.
