
SHANGHAI, April 21, 2025 — The Digiloong Cup Global AI Game and Application Innovation Competition (“Digiloong GAIC”) commenced on April 2, 2025. Spearheaded by Shanghai-listed Century Huatong, the competition is supported by the Games Publishing Committee of the China Audio-video and Digital Publishing Association (CADPA), the Pudong New Area Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, and the Shanghai Online Game Association (OGA). Key partners such as The Paper, Lighthouse Capital, and Eastern Bell Capital are co-branding the event. This competition seeks to significantly advance AI technology within game development and across broader industries. It centers on incorporating AI throughout the game development process and extending its application to various real-world scenarios. The aim is to accelerate the integration of new technologies in both interactive entertainment and traditional sectors. The competition unfolds in five stages:
Phase 1: Registration and Entry Submission (April 2nd – June 18th)
Phase 2: Preliminary Selection (June 19th – July 1st), where eligible submissions will progress.
Phase 3: Semi-Finalist Selection (July 2nd -mid-July), during which a panel of industry experts will judge and score shortlisted projects to determine the finalists.
Phase 4: On-site Finalist Evaluation (end of July), featuring live Q&A sessions with the judges.
Phase 5: Grand Finale & Awards Ceremony (August 1st), a prominent event at the 2025 ChinaJoy AIGC conference that will recognize both judges and participating industry leaders.
A cross-disciplinary and authoritative jury is part of the competition’s evaluation. Confirmed experts include Tang Jiajun, Deputy Secretary General of CADPA and Secretary General of the Games Publishing Committee; Jim Wang, Chairman of Century Huatong; Wang Jianhua, Secretary General of OGA; Derek Fang, Chief Strategy Officer of Century Huatong; Zhang Zhaogong, Associate Professor at the Communication University of China and Director of the Game Design Department; Lin Koon Wing, Mac, Director of the Computer Graphics and Power Consumption Laboratory at the Huawei Hong Kong Research Center (recommended by ChinaJoy); Sun Hui, CTO of The Paper; Vita Gu, Partner at Eastern Bell Capital; Xinxin Huang, Senior Director of the Incubation Business at Lighthouse Capital; Liang Jianming, Risk Control Partner at Shanghai Xiaomiao Longcheng Investment Management (recommended by the Shanghai University Student Technology Entrepreneurship Foundation). Senior executives from leading companies, professors from top universities, and senior fellows from research institutes, including Mike Zhang, Manager of Century Huatong’s Shengqu Games Technology Center, and Wu Shiqian, Head of the Shengqu Games Planning Center, will also contribute. The jury will perform a comprehensive evaluation of submissions based on technical innovation, commercial potential, and feasibility, with expectations for more industry leaders to participate.
The competition offers a total prize pool of 600,000 yuan, distributed across 15 awards in six categories, encompassing game innovation, technology application, content design, music presentation, and visual expression. Throughout the competition, the organizing committee will also host themed salons, online Q&A sessions, and other events to foster collaboration among developers, businesses, investors, and other stakeholders. Key initiatives focused on visibility, venture support, and access to computing power will aim to accelerate the commercialization and real-world application of the most promising projects. Century Huatong’s Shengqu Capital, along with prominent domestic venture capital firms Lighthouse Capital and Eastern Bell Capital, will provide follow-up support as a capital incubator, assisting winning teams in scaling and solidifying their projects.
In his remarks at the Digiloong GAIC launch ceremony, Mr. Wang, Chairman of Century Huatong, emphasized that the game industry’s advanced technology and creative transformation capabilities make it an ideal environment for AI experimentation. He expressed hope that Digiloong GAIC would serve as a bridge, connecting technology developers, businesses, investors, and users to accelerate AI’s transition from laboratory research to practical implementation.
