NEW YORK, Jan. 20, 2025 — DAHON introduced its new “D-VELO” technology at the CABDA EAST Expo, held January 15th at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in New York, generating significant interest among cycling professionals and enthusiasts.
CABDA EAST 2025, featuring over 100 global bicycle brands, served as a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in cycling. The event attracted cycling experts and enthusiasts from the East Coast, New England, and the Mid-Atlantic region, offering a glimpse into the future of the industry.
DAHON displayed various new models incorporating its innovative “D-VELO” technology. A presentation by micro-mobility expert Dr. Jonathan Weinert highlighted DAHON’s commitment to improving bike frame design through incremental improvements in weight, durability, and speed.
Dr. Weinert discussed the industry’s response to growing user demands for practical, high-performance, and durable bikes and e-bikes. He emphasized how D-VELO offers solutions to common bicycle design challenges.
“D-VELO” is DAHON’s proprietary approach to bicycle design and testing, focusing on frame design. By optimizing frame rigidity and key structural components, D-VELO improves pedaling efficiency, speed, and overall ride quality.
Several new models showcased D-VELO’s capabilities:
K-Feather: A lightweight e-bike utilizing “D-VELO” technology, raising the bar for electric-assist bikes. It combines ease of use with functionality, offering a 40 km range and weighing just 26.5 lbs (12kg), making it ideal for commutes and short trips.
Vélodon A4: Testing shows its advanced Eagle Frame design—including the Soaring Top Tube, Eagle Triangle, and Straightened Seat Stay—increases rigidity by 32.9% compared to standard road bikes, resulting in faster speeds and improved ride efficiency.
Hemingway GR: This gravel folding bike, suitable for both city and off-road use, provides a smooth ride on various terrains. Its lightweight aluminum frame and adaptable tires make it a versatile option for performance-oriented cyclists.
These new models demonstrate DAHON’s expansion beyond folding bikes and its contribution to the wider bicycle industry’s progress.
The positive reception of DAHON’s “D-VELO” technology at CABDA EAST reinforces the company’s position as a leader in bicycle innovation.
DAHON will continue showcasing its advancements at the CABDA MIDWEST Expo in Chicago, February 12-13.
