LONDON, April 8, 2025 — H.I.G. Bayside Capital Europe (“Bayside”), the European credit affiliate of H.I.G. Capital (“H.I.G.”), a prominent global alternative investment firm managing $68 billion in capital, is pleased to announce it has financed Riviera Travel (“Riviera” or the “Company”), an award-winning global travel company specializing in guided tours, cruises, and holidays for solo travelers, backed by Silverfleet Capital (“Silverfleet”). Bayside and Triton Debt Opportunities (“Triton”) are providing the new five-year, £125 million unitranche term loan.
Based in the United Kingdom, Riviera has been creating travel experiences for over 40 years. The company focuses on the over-60s demographic and has established a strong reputation for quality, value, and excellent customer service. Riviera offers around 170 unique tour and cruise itineraries across more than 45 countries.
The new five-year facility refinances the existing term loan and establishes a strong base for Riviera’s management team, under the leadership of CEO Phil Hullah, to continue the significant growth achieved since Silverfleet’s acquisition of the Company.
David Whatley, Chief Financial Officer of Riviera, stated: “We are excited to be partnering with Bayside and Triton for this next growth phase. This partnership will allow us to keep investing in our business to improve the customer experience, develop and refine our itineraries, and implement our strategic growth plans.”
Mathilde Malezieux, Managing Director at Bayside, commented: “Riviera has been a remarkable success story, delivering strong, sustainable growth in an attractive market. Bayside’s capital solutions loan refinances Riviera’s existing debt and offers a flexible capital structure to support the company’s continued growth. We anticipate collaborating with the Riviera team on the next stage of their growth.”
