MATOSINHOS, Portugal, May 19, 2025 — Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) celebrated another successful event at the Vodafone Rally de Portugal, the fifth round of the 2025 FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), which wrapped up on May 18 in Matosinhos, northern Portugal. As the sole tire supplier for the FIA’s premier rally series, Hankook Tire once again highlighted its technical prowess and dedication to top-tier competition.

Considered one of the most demanding rallies of the year, the 2025 Rally de Portugal pushed teams and vehicles to their limits with tough driving conditions resulting from unpredictable weather and rough terrain. A combination of loose sand, sharp stones, and deeply grooved roads, along with constantly changing weather, created difficult driving conditions where tire choice and stage management were crucial to the final results.
Key to the performance was Hankook Tire’s Dynapro R213, a robust all-terrain rally tire designed to absorb impacts from rough surfaces while maintaining excellent grip. Offered in both soft and hard compounds, optimized for sandy areas and harsh terrain respectively, the Dynapro R213 demonstrated its capabilities by delivering excellent performance even in the rally’s most challenging conditions.
Following a fierce competition, Sébastien Ogier of the Toyota GAZOO Racing World Rally Team secured first place in the WRC1 class. This victory marked Ogier’s second win of the season, elevating him to third place in the overall drivers’ standings. Ott Tänak finished in second place, followed by Kalle Rovanperä in third.
Away from the stages, Hankook Tire engaged fans with the launch of its “Brand World” booth, which debuted this season at Rally de Portugal. Situated in the service park, the activation area featured a realistic racing simulator, a display of motorsport history, photo opportunities, and exclusive merchandise. The experience generated significant interest from rally attendees and will continue its tour at upcoming rally events, including the WRC Secto Rally Finland and WRC Central European Rally, further strengthening Hankook Tire’s connection with international rally fans.
The 2025 WRC season continues with Round 6, Rally Italia Sardegna, from June 5 to 8 on the Italian island of Sardinia. Known for its high temperatures, fast, technical stages, and unforgiving surfaces, the Sardinia rally is expected to be another major test of durability and precision. Hankook Tire will again showcase its advanced rally tire performance, ready to provide resilience in some of the season’s toughest conditions.
