The Harbin AWG is the first major sporting event to utilize 5G-A millimeter wave (MMW) technology, achieving downlink speeds exceeding 10Gbps. This facilitates seamless 8K live streaming, real-time athlete data monitoring, and intelligent resource allocation. A robust “1 Cloud + 4 Networks” communication system—comprising a cloud data center, competition network, backup network, event internet, and media transmission network—ensures reliable connectivity for scoring, information dissemination, and emergency response.

Improved services for athletes, spectators, and staff include dedicated shuttle trains, enhanced airport services, and increased hotel capacity. Athletes enjoy Northeastern Chinese cuisine, including guobaorou, chicken stew, and Harbin red sausage, with special dietary needs accommodated. Nutritious takeout meals are available for athletes unable to dine in restaurants. Harbin, as an inclusive city, offers comprehensive support and welcomes global visitors to experience its unique culture.

Winter sports competitions, including freestyle skiing, cross-country skiing, and ski mountaineering, are currently underway, showcasing the spirit of the Harbin AWG.
