The new Harley-Davidson championship will feature races at six MotoGP events, uniting a globally recognized brand with an exhilarating sport.

MILWAUKEE and LE MANS, FRANCE, May 10, 2025 – Harley-Davidson® (NYSE:HOG) and MotoGP are introducing a new global racing series with Harley-Davidson bagger motorcycles, set to launch in 2026. The series will consist of twelve races held at six Grands Prix in Europe and North America. Riders will compete on race-modified Harley-Davidson Road Glide® motorcycles in two races each round.

These bikes, developed by Harley-Davidson Factory® Racing for intense competition, weigh around 280 kilograms (617 pounds). They generate over 200 horsepower and 245 Nm (180 lb-ft) of torque, achieving speeds exceeding 300 kilometers per hour (186 mph). Each motorcycle will be identical to ensure tight racing. The grid is anticipated to include six to eight teams, each with two riders, all supported by Harley-Davidson Factory Racing.

“This marks a significant advancement for Harley-Davidson’s international racing goals. For over 120 years, Harley-Davidson has been a pioneer in performance, both on and off the track. Recently, we have demonstrated this through our involvement in the MotoAmerica Mission King of the Baggers series and with performance-oriented products like our new CVO RR motorcycle and CVO Road Glide ST. The positive response to performance from riders and fans indicates their desire for more,” stated Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President, and CEO of Harley-Davidson. “We are thrilled to introduce a new racing format to the global stage with this series. It represents a bold, new chapter for our brand, honoring our legacy while looking to the future, and will undoubtedly enhance the spectacle of the world’s greatest motorcycle show.”

“This partnership with Harley-Davidson presents an exciting opportunity for both organizations,” commented Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports. “We are providing Harley-Davidson with an international platform to broaden its global presence, and Harley-Davidson is ideally positioned to help us introduce our sport to new audiences by partnering with one of America’s most iconic lifestyle brands.
