SHANGHAI, June 18, 2025 — Inceptio Technology, a leading developer of autonomous trucking technology, announced today its membership in the Autoware Foundation, an open alliance focused on autonomous driving. Inceptio will work with Autoware Foundation members worldwide to foster innovation and speed up the implementation of secure, scalable autonomous truck technologies.

The Autoware Foundation, established in 2018, is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting open-source collaboration to accelerate the global development of autonomous driving technology.

Founded in 2018, Inceptio aims to create safer, more efficient long-haul logistics by collaborating with OEMs and logistics operators to integrate its technologies and systems into mass-produced trucks. Inceptio launched the first mass-produced autonomous trucks in the industry in late 2021. To date, the Inceptio Autonomous Driving System has accumulated over 200 million kilometers of commercial operation.

Inceptio’s technology suite encompasses L4, L3, and L2+ levels of autonomy. Utilizing its proprietary full-stack Inceptio Autonomous Driving System – which includes long-range perception, high-precision tractor and trailer control, a fuel-efficient driving algorithm, and an HPC designed specifically for truck operating conditions – Inceptio has demonstrably improved safety and reduced fuel and labor costs in the trucking sector. Its data-driven R&D platform continuously refines core modules in real-time, facilitating the rapid deployment and optimization of its autonomous truck technologies across various trucking applications.

“We are pleased to welcome Inceptio Technology to the Autoware Foundation,” said Shinpei Kato, Founder and Fellow of the Autoware Foundation. “Inceptio’s proven history in autonomous trucking, along with its extensive industry and production knowledge, will be invaluable as we collaborate to develop the next generation of autonomous mobility solutions for the trucking industry.”

Inceptio plans to actively participate in Autoware Foundation initiatives by contributing technology and use cases, investigating new applications, and establishing global partnerships. Inceptio will collaborate with partners, including technology companies and leading OEMs, to integrate Autoware solutions with its proprietary components in proof-of-concept and mass production projects worldwide, particularly in the truck segment.

“We anticipate working with a global open-source community of innovators to accelerate the advancement of autonomous driving technologies and extend the community’s reach into the truck segment,” said Julian Ma, Founder and CEO of Inceptio Technology. “Our deep experience in mass production and insights from the world’s largest commercial deployment of autonomous trucks uniquely position us to contribute to the Autoware Foundation, promoting safer and more efficient logistics globally.”

About Inceptio Technology

Inceptio Technology is a leading developer of autonomous driving technologies for heavy-duty trucks. Its core technology is the Inceptio Autonomous Driving System, a proprietary full-stack solution. Inceptio partnered with leading OEMs to launch the industry’s first mass-produced L3 autonomous trucks in late 2021. These trucks are used by customers across all long-haul logistics sectors, including express delivery, full-truckload (FTL) transportation, less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation, and cold chain. Inceptio is at the forefront of developing fully driverless trucks, becoming the first company in China to receive a public road-testing permit for driverless autonomous heavy-duty trucks in 2022.
