TEMPE, Ariz., April 25, 2025 — The Institute for Supply Management® (ISM®) has named the 2025 winners of the R. Gene Richter Scholarship. This scholarship is given out each year to the best supply management students in the United States. The winners were chosen based on their submitted essays, GPAs, leadership skills, involvement in extracurricular activities, and overall achievements as undergraduate professionals, including internships and case competitions.

The winners include from the University of South Carolina, from Michigan State University, from Michigan State University, from Grand Valley State University, from The Pennsylvania State University, and from Western Michigan University. Since the scholarship began in 2004, more than 145 students from 30 different universities across the United States have received this honor.

“We are excited to present the 2025 class of Richter scholars. We have confidence that they will develop into leaders in supply management,” said Nancy Richter, founder of the R. Gene Richter Scholarship Program. “With their demonstrated leadership, creativity, and initiative, our Richter scholars will bring a new perspective to the field.”

The honorees will be celebrated at a special executive luncheon and at the ISM Awards Gala on June 2 during ISM World 2025, ISM’s annual conference taking place in Orlando from June 1 – 3. Recipients also gain access to an executive mentor who is a leader in the field, as well as a former Richter scholar who serves as a junior mentor.

“These students are the future leaders of the profession and have great potential,” stated ISM CEO Thomas Derry. “Their accomplishments show their commitment, and we are sure they will make significant contributions to the organizations they join.”
