BEIJING, Jan. 30, 2025 — JA Solar, a leading global solar technology provider, announced the launch of its DeepBlue 5.0 PV module. This represents a major advancement in photovoltaic technology, offering improvements in efficiency, reliability, and versatility.

The DeepBlue 5.0, incorporating Bycium+ 5.0 cell technology, utilizes upgraded electrical design, enhanced materials, and structural improvements. These advancements result in a module power output of up to 670W and efficiency reaching 24.8%. Its performance is optimized for low-light conditions and various weather patterns, delivering consistent energy production across diverse applications.

Key improvements include wafers with enhanced resistivity uniformity, ultra-low oxygen content (3 ppma), and superior minority carrier lifetime. The Bycium+ 5.0 cell integrates high-efficiency n-type passivated contact technology, optimized light capture, and an exceptionally high open-circuit voltage of 749 mV. The module incorporates PII, HDP, UTG, and CSE technologies for superior durability and reliability in challenging environments. With a first-year degradation rate of ≤1% and an annual linear degradation of ≤0.4%, the DeepBlue 5.0 sets a new standard for efficiency and longevity.

Mass production of the DeepBlue 5.0 modules, with initial power ratings from 640W to 670W, is planned for Q4 2025. Designed for high-efficiency requirements in premium markets, the DeepBlue 5.0 aims to provide exceptional value for large-scale utility, commercial, and residential solar projects globally.
