CALGARY, AB, December 30, 2024 – A joint operation involving the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), the RCMP Federal Policing Northwest Region, and the Calgary Police Service resulted in the seizure of 189 kilograms of cocaine at the Coutts port of entry on November 13, 2024. The seizure, conducted during a secondary examination of a commercial truck, yielded an estimated $2 million worth of cocaine at wholesale value.
The Integrated Border Enforcement Team (IBET) aims to strengthen border security by detecting and disrupting criminal activity involving individuals, organizations, and goods at and between designated ports of entry.
All participating agencies are actively involved in the ongoing criminal investigation.
