DALLAS, March 26, 2025 — MedCAD, located in Dallas, announced that the AccuStride® Foot and Ankle System has received 510(k) clearance. This allows surgeons to use these customized, precise devices. The system’s unique design, along with the company’s specialized software, enables foot and ankle surgeons to address multiple related problems in a single operation. The AccuStride® System, which is patent-pending, represents the company’s initial product line for lower extremities. MedCAD is also a prominent manufacturer of patient-specific, custom-designed implants and surgical devices for cranial and maxillofacial reconstruction, including virtual planning.
Nancy Hairston, CEO and president of MedCAD, stated that their new patient-matched solution is unparalleled for surgeons regularly handling intricate or revision cases involving the entire foot. She added that they have seen a surge of inquiries and interest from leading foot and ankle orthopedic specialists eager to utilize their comprehensive foot solutions for multiple pathologies. They anticipate that these custom 3-D printed devices will decrease the frequency and length of surgeries, while also providing superior, long-lasting results.
The AccuStride® System aims to enhance the outcomes of proximal phalanx and metatarsal arthroplasty. It also provides tailored solutions for Lapidus revisions and cavus foot corrections. The system’s components are made from UV-curable acrylate polymers or titanium alloy materials, and can be delivered within five days of receiving medical imaging and surgeon design approval. It is designed for patients aged 12 and older.
Hairston explained that the goal of MedCAD’s range of patient-matched products is to offer surgeons customizable options that are as anatomically unique as their patients. MedCAD has been developing a strong reputation for providing surgeons with advanced planning technology, enabling them to deliver life-changing results for their patients. With AccuStride, they recognized that issues in one part of the foot can lead to significant problems in other areas. Their advanced, holistic approach leads to unmatched outcomes and virtually limitless possibilities.
