LAKEWOOD, Colo., Dec. 2, 2024 — Natural Grocers is closing its Tucson, Arizona store at Broadway Boulevard and Kolb Road on December 11, 2024. A store-wide closing sale begins December 3rd, offering 25% off dairy, frozen, grocery, and produce items, and 10% off all other merchandise. All sales are final.
This Tucson location is one of several in Arizona and one of four in the Tucson area. The company routinely assesses store performance and sustainability.
Kemper Isely, Natural Grocers Co-President, explained that the decision to close the Broadway and Kolb store, due to lease expiration, was made to improve operational efficiency and overall store performance in the Tucson market. This follows a review considering operational challenges, market saturation, and needed capital improvements. The company believes this will better serve the Tucson community.
Isely added that Natural Grocers appreciates customer loyalty and is committed to supporting its employees through this transition, continuing to serve the Tucson community via its remaining stores.
The company is assisting affected employees with potential transfers or transition packages, including severance and benefits.
