Popeyes Deploys Social Media Bots to Drop Promo Codes to Thousands of Boneless Deniers on X to Redeem Free* 6 piece Boneless Wings
MIAMI, July 2, 2024 — Last week, Popeyes® expanded its Wings platform with the addition of Boneless Wings to menus nationwide.
Popeyes has noticed a strong debate on social media regarding the legitimacy of boneless wings. Many people express skepticism and even disdain for boneless wings, with about 63,000 tweets expressing this sentiment. Popeyes, however, believes in the deliciousness of their boneless wings and are confident they can win over even the most ardent skeptics.
With National Fried Chicken Day approaching, Popeyes is launching a mission to convert “Boneless Deniers” into “Boneless Believers.” The brand is offering free 6-piece Boneless Wings with any purchase made on the Popeyes website or app on July 6th, National Fried Chicken Day. To target these users, Popeyes is deploying social media bots to directly send promo codes to those who have publicly expressed their anti-boneless wing stance on X.
Popeyes isn’t forgetting about its loyal Boneless Believers either. Those who already love boneless wings, or simply want free wings, can enjoy a free 6-piece Boneless Wings with a $10 purchase.
“When planning our Boneless Wings launch, we noticed a lot of people have pretty strong opinions about them – and many claim their minds can’t be changed. We’re here to challenge that,” said Jeff Klein, President of Popeyes North America. “Our Boneless Wings can win over the tastebuds and the keyboards of even the most stubborn Boneless Deniers, and to prove it we’re giving everyone a chance to try them this National Fried Chicken Day.”
To celebrate the launch last week, Popeyes collaborated with actor, comedian, writer, producer, and notorious Boneless Denier, Jimmy O. Yang, who is best known for his roles in Love Hard, Silicon Valley, Crazy Rich Asians, and Space Force. Jimmy was ultimately converted to a Boneless Believer by Popeyes’ delicious wings and is now encouraging others to try them as part of the brand’s new campaign.
Popeyes new Boneless Wings are available in six signature mouth-watering flavors: Classic, Honey Lemon Pepper, Signature Hot, Honey BBQ, Sweet ‘N Spicy, Roasted Garlic Parmesan.
