LOS ANGELES, April 4, 2025 — The Entertainment Globalization Association (EGA) has presented the 2025 Hermes Lifetime Achievement Award to Ramki Sankaranarayanan, Founder and Global CEO of Prime Focus Technologies (PFT). The award, given at the Hermes Awards for Entertainment Localization Excellence, recognizes Ramki’s contribution to transforming global media supply chains by integrating AI innovation with human creativity. This allows for adaptable and culturally relevant storytelling worldwide.

Ramki has been a pioneer in media technology for over two decades, initiating the first Media ERP in the industry and establishing the groundwork for cloud-based Supply Chain, which was subsequently included in the MovieLabs 2030 Vision. Under his direction, PFT has consistently advanced localization by utilizing AI-driven subtitling, dubbing, and metadata solutions via its CLEAR® and CLEAR® AI platforms. Early developments like automated subtitle retiming and hybrid AI pipelines have changed the scope and efficiency of global content delivery.

PFT offers localization in 150 languages, including 92 European, 24 African, 18 Indian, 10 East Asian, and 6 Central Asian languages, showing comprehensive capabilities. Currently, PFT supports over 2 million minutes of subtitling and 1 million minutes of dubbing each year for major platforms like Star TV, Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Crunchyroll.

With over 13 patents and seven NAB Product of the Year Awards, including a 2023 award for AI-driven localization, CLEAR® AI represents modern Agentic AI. Its autonomous Localization Agents can make independent decisions, collaborate in real-time, and continuously improve. CLEAR® AI uses Multi-Agent Collaboration, coordinating agents specialized in different tasks across the content lifecycle. This innovative strategy greatly improves accuracy, speeds up time-to-market, lessens manual effort, and shows a move toward intelligent, collaborative AI in localization.

PFT’s newest innovation, CLEAR® AI Content Studio, further enhances this trend by converting archived content into profitable content libraries.

“This award is deeply meaningful,” said Ramki. “It honors not just my journey, but the passion and relentless innovation of our PFT team & the pivotal role clients have played in embracing the innovation—and the vibrant localization community driving global storytelling forward.”

EGA’s recognition emphasizes the growing importance of AI-driven, human-enhanced localization and the visionaries shaping its future.
