
BARCELONA, Spain, July 4, 2025 — The Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC), a premier global gathering for cities and intelligent urban solutions organized by Fira de Barcelona, is set to host its biggest ever edition in 2025. Running from November 4-6 under the banner “The Time for Cities,” this exhibition and conference is projected to attract 1,000 exhibitors and 25,000 attendees, expanding its exhibition area to surpass the previous record.

This event, taking place at Fira’s Gran Via venue, will concentrate on methods for evolving existing urban centers into more sustainable, efficient, and habitable environments. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is designated a pivotal role as a crucial tool capable of accelerating the vital movement towards more effective and environmentally friendly cities. A new dedicated zone, “AI-enabled cities,” will demonstrate examples of how this technology can enhance and expedite urban transformation initiatives.
The exhibition space will feature companies from across the globe presenting their latest innovations, including Axis Communications, Bentley, Dahua Technology, Dassault Systèmes, Dell, Deloitte, iotsquared, Microsoft, Nvidia, Spie, Urbaser and Veolia. Furthermore, the event will host numerous country pavilions from nations such as Argentina, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Netherlands, Nordics, United Kingdom and the USA.

SCEWC is set to welcome over 600 speakers and international specialists to its congress, which is organized into eight primary themes: Enabling Technologies, Energy & Environment, Mobility, Governance & Economy, Living & Inclusion, Infrastructure & Building, and Blue Economy.
Noteworthy confirmed speakers include Nikki Greenberg, CEO of Real Estate of the future, a globally acclaimed futurist and strategic consultant; and Kate O’Neill, Founder and CEO of KO Insights, an esteemed digital innovator recognized for enhancing human experiences through data-driven and AI-powered interactions.
The Global Hub of Innovation
SCEWC will reinforce its position as a worldwide center for urban innovation by once again staging Tomorrow.Mobility World Congress, an event co-organized by Fira de Barcelona and EIT Urban Mobility, dedicated to fostering a new and sustainable urban mobility model. It will also host the third editions of Tomorrow Building, focused on groundbreaking construction, and Tomorrow.Blue Economy, aimed at leveraging the full potential of marine resources for sustainable economic development. Completing this unique offering, SCEWC will feature the fourth edition of the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit, an initiative by Barcelona Activa centered on scientific technology entrepreneurship and university spin-off companies.
