Saint-Boniface will be awarded $250,000 to improve its arena and will host a National Hockey League (NHL®) pre-season game.

TORONTO, April 5, 2025 – Kraft Heinz, together with the NHL® and the NHLPA, is pleased to announce that Saint-Boniface, Québec, has been named the winner of Kraft Hockeyville 2025.

Saint-Boniface will receive $250,000 to put towards upgrading their arena. They will also host an NHL® pre-season game in the fall of 2026 and receive $10,000 worth of new hockey equipment for youth, courtesy of NHLPA Goals & Dreams. The remaining three community finalists will each receive $25,000 for arena improvements, plus $10,000 in new youth hockey equipment thanks to NHLPA Goals & Dreams.

Canadians across the country voted, and Saint-Boniface received the most votes. This was in recognition of their commitment to fostering a thriving future for hockey players and fans. NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman announced the winner on Sportsnet’s Hockey Night in Canada broadcast earlier this evening.

Since it was established, the Aréna de Saint-Boniface has shown what can be achieved when a community unites around a common objective. Located in the town’s center, it’s a gathering spot where people connect through their shared love for sports, music, celebrations, and of course, Le Boum – Saint-Boniface’s local hockey team. Built in 1999 by a group of dedicated volunteers, the arena now requires maintenance, and expensive renovations are endangering its future. Winning Kraft Hockeyville 2025 will provide the necessary support to upgrade its infrastructure, ensuring the community has a place to call home for future hockey players.

“Congratulations to Saint-Boniface on being named Kraft Hockeyville 2025. Your spirit is evident both on and off the ice,” stated Simon Laroche, President, Kraft Heinz Canada. “This program is about more than just improving arenas; it’s about strengthening Canadian communities. For over a century, Kraft Heinz has been producing food in Canada and contributing to the communities where we operate, and it has been a privilege to support community hockey – a sport that reflects our nation’s passion, resilience, and unity.”

The announcement of this year’s winner marks the end of the 19th annual Kraft Hockeyville program. Millions of votes confirmed that hockey remains a vital part of Canada. Saint-Boniface – along with a record number of communities – demonstrated strong support for their hometowns, proving that the passion for hockey is alive and well, ready to be passed down to future generations. This celebration sets the stage for next year’s 20th anniversary, which will feature exciting new program updates.
