JOHANNESBURG, Feb. 15, 2025 — Sigenergy, a leading energy solutions provider, held a Johannesburg event on February 14 showcasing its innovative commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage systems. The event, attended by over 350 African energy professionals, featured a real-world example of Sigenergy’s technology resolving regional energy challenges and spurred discussions on the expanding role of energy storage in Africa’s future.

Exceptional Growth and Global Market Position

Sigenergy’s President and CTO, Samuel Zhang, highlighted the company’s remarkable growth in his opening remarks, acknowledging the substantial contribution of Herholdt’s Group, South Africa’s largest distributor. Zhang noted Sigenergy’s rapid ascent as the fastest-growing inverter company, becoming a top choice for distributors in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, Sweden, Australia, and the U.S.

In South Africa, Sigenergy secured nearly 100 MWh in orders within seven months, achieving almost 10% market share. Globally, its SigenStor system boasts high customer satisfaction, with roughly 90% approval from homeowners and installers based on a 2024 survey.

Eliminating Load-Shedding with Instantaneous Switching

A demonstration at South Ocean Electric Wire, an Alberton-based cable manufacturer, showcased Sigenergy’s SigenStor solution resolving the company’s load-shedding issues. The installation of 96 SigenStor units (4.1 MWh total) eliminated production disruptions and the reliance on costly diesel generators.

Sigenergy’s 0ms switching ensured a seamless transition between grid and off-grid power. The system includes the Sigenergy Energy Gateway C1200 (1200 kW), providing up to five hours of backup during outages. As the only African provider of such large-scale gateways, Sigenergy also offers customizable, larger solutions with rapid response times.

Future Innovations: New Product Unveiling

The event featured several new products, including the SigenStack, a modular energy storage solution for large-scale C&I and utility projects. With 50 kW to 125 kW power output and scalability up to 100 units, SigenStack offers hundreds of megawatts of capacity.

Additionally, Sigenergy launched the Sigen Hybrid 2nd Generation and Sigen Gateway HomePro SP/TP. Complementing its hardware advancements, Sigenergy’s mySigen app provides advanced energy management capabilities, with regular updates ensuring a continuously improved user experience.
