SPIC Sets New Record with Annual Power Generation Exceeding 700 TWh

BEIJING, Jan. 6, 2025 — SPIC’s annual power generation reached a record 707.2 terawatt-hours (TWh) on December 24th, a 6.11% year-over-year increase, according to the company’s Department of Operation and Management. Clean energy sources contributed 383.2 TWh, representing 54% of the total – also a record high.

SPIC has focused on its aim of becoming a leading global clean energy company. Its “Balanced Growth Strategy” prioritizes key sectors, projects, and regions, with a strong emphasis on clean energy investment. The company has made significant progress in nuclear energy and power projects, while simultaneously expanding its offshore wind and solar initiatives. By investing in new projects and optimizing existing assets, SPIC is supporting energy security and sustainable economic growth. By November, SPIC’s total installed capacity reached 250 gigawatts (GW), with 177 GW (70.86%) from clean energy sources. SPIC maintains its global leadership in photovoltaic (PV), new energy, and clean energy capacity.
