The funeral for Shiri Bibas and her two sons is taking place this Wednesday morning in , following the return of their remains by Hamas last week.

The remains of Shiri Bibas, along with those of her sons Ariel and Kfir, were given to Israeli officials late last week as part of the ongoing hostage agreement between Israel and Hamas.

According to The Times of Israel, the funeral will occur near the family’s home in , in a private ceremony at Zohar, and will not be open to the general public.

The family has released the route that the funeral procession will take and encouraged the public to show their support as the remains are transported.

On Friday, Hamas transferred a coffin containing the remains of Shiri Bibas to the Red Cross, who then passed the coffin on to Israeli authorities. Positive identification was made on Saturday morning.

Prior to this, Hamas had released a Palestinian woman from Gaza on Thursday.

The terrorist organization stated that it has “no interest in withholding any bodies in its possession.” They claimed that the deceased hostages handed over on Thursday were killed by an in November 2023 and that bombardments in the area may have led to misidentification of the bodies.

Before Shiri Bibas’ remains were handed over, Israeli authorities had already positively identified the remains of her two sons, as well as those of another hostage, Oded Lifshitz.
