VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Feb. 26, 2026 — (NASDAQ:ZENA) (FSE: 49Q) (BMV: ZENA) (“ZenaTech”), a provider of technology solutions focused on AI (Artificial Intelligence) drones, Drone as a Service (DaaS), enterprise SaaS, and Quantum Computing solutions, has announced that its drone subsidiary ZenaDrone has begun developing a quantum navigation system aimed at enabling secure drone operations in environments where GPS is unavailable or satellite signals are compromised. The system will first support the ZenaDrone 1000, the company’s multifunctional heavy-lift drone used in defense applications such as ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), specialized cargo transport, and border patrol. Plans are also in place for future expansion across the company’s IQ series drone platforms.
“The capacity to operate autonomously in GPS-denied environments is a critical operational necessity for modern defense,” stated Shaun Passley, Ph.D., CEO of ZenaTech. “We are dedicated to supporting U.S. defense and national security needs with technology that functions effectively where traditional systems fall short. We view quantum navigation as a foundational capability that will shape the next generation of autonomous defense systems, and we are making strategic investments in the research and development required to establish our future leadership as the industry progresses.”
Quantum navigation systems are regarded as next-generation, self-contained, and ultra-precise motion sensing systems that enable reliable navigation without GPS by utilizing quantum physics-based principles and sensors. As defense operational landscapes evolve, defense missions are increasingly encountering environments where GPS and satellite signals cannot be trusted, whether due to jamming, spoofing, or other contested conditions. These navigation systems combine quantum inertial measurement with AI-driven path correction, allowing for sustained and accurate positioning over extended mission durations without depending on external signals. Quantum navigation can also benefit commercial drones operating in GPS-challenged environments, such as dense urban areas, indoor industrial facilities, underground locations, and long-range BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight) missions.
The Company’s R&D team is in the early stages of development, with a focus on integrating this capability into the ZenaDrone 1000. Management anticipates progressing through research and development, drone integration, and testing phases, which will involve cross-functional teams over time. The quantum navigation system is projected to be integrated into ZenaDrone’s defense and commercial drone platforms, enhancing capabilities for surveillance, critical infrastructure inspection, and defense missions.
The ZenaDrone 1000 is designed as an advanced AI-powered VTOL heavy-lift platform optimized for defense applications, providing ISR capabilities such as real-time surveillance, tactical reconnaissance, and secure data collection, along with cargo transport and mission-critical payload delivery. Its modular design enables quick reconfiguration for multi-mission operations in high-risk environments, ranging from infrastructure monitoring to operational logistics support.
