MONTREAL, Feb. 9, 2026 – Air Transat is announcing the temporary halt of all flights to Cuba through April 30, 2026. This decision follows fast-moving developments in recent hours and Cuban authorities’ notice of an expected aviation fuel shortage at destination airports.

Right now, Air Transat’s top priority is ensuring the organized return of its customers currently in Cuba. The airline is arranging repatriation flights to bring customers back to Canada, with schedules to be finalized in the coming days. Planes deployed for these operations will carry sufficient fuel to complete the trips.

Flights to Cuba could restart as soon as May 1, 2026, depending on how the situation evolves. Air Transat will continue monitoring developments closely and provide timely updates as new information emerges.

For customers

Travelers currently in Cuba who booked a Transat all‑inclusive package can rely on support from on‑site representative teams, who remain available to answer questions. Those who booked a flight directly with Air Transat or a package including an Air Transat flight through another tour operator may contact the destination assistance service using the phone number that will be provided to them, for ongoing support until their return home.

Air Transat will contact all customers currently in Cuba to share details about their return flights.

All existing bookings for travel to Cuba scheduled between February 11 and April 30, 2026 will be automatically canceled and refunded to the original form of payment on file. No action is needed from customers.
