BEIJING, Jan. 30, 2026 — iQIYI, China’s premier online entertainment platform, has unveiled its 2025 annual patent report, signaling a breakthrough year for innovation. The firm submitted 993 new patent applications during the past year, comprising 880 invention patents and 12 high-value patents, each establishing five-year benchmarks. These accomplishments secured iQIYI’s position among the Top 100 Chinese Enterprises for Valid Invention Patents.
As a designated National Intellectual Property Demonstration Enterprise, iQIYI’s expanding portfolio of more than 12,000 patent applications demonstrates its enduring dedication to technological leadership and creative excellence. These breakthroughs not only strengthen iQIYI’s market position but also inject fresh impetus into the sustainable growth of China’s entertainment sector.
AI-Powered Innovation Across the Creative Pipeline
In 2025, AI emerged as the cornerstone of iQIYI’s innovation agenda — with more than half of its new patents concentrating on AI implementations throughout content creation, production, distribution, and immersive experiences. Drawing upon its content creation proficiency, iQIYI introduced Script Studio, an AI-powered solution for storyline assessment, character building, and narrative enhancement. Utilizing cutting-edge large-model technology, it can examine complete scripts in merely 30 minutes, evaluating emotional trajectories, rhythm, and character dynamics to pinpoint contradictions and repetitions. This condenses weeks of manual labor into hours and fills a persistent void in smart script assessment. By year-end 2025, Script Studio had processed over 17,000 scripts.
Scaling AI-Generated Animation and Beyond
During the latter half of 2025, iQIYI confronted the challenge of preserving consistency in AI-generated animation for extended videos by engineering a multi-agent content production system that transforms scripts directly into animated material. Each AI agent manages a distinct phase—such as script analysis, character and environment design, storyboarding, and video rendering—with synchronized validations to guarantee narrative consistency from initial script to final output. This patented innovation is advancing toward complete implementation and will enable mass production of animation, short-form dramas, and interactive media.
Expanding the Boundaries of Immersive Entertainment
Extending beyond digital displays, iQIYI’s innovation reaches into VR and immersive entertainment realms. Throughout 2025 alone, the company submitted close to 20 patents to elevate VR sensory immersion, encompassing motion tracking, audio, lighting, and gesture-based interaction. These technologies are currently deployed in iQIYI’s immersive theaters and will reach a broader public with the launch of iQIYI Land Yangzhou on February 8, 2026, enabling guests to discover cinematic universes through state-of-the-art immersive experiences.
