TORONTO, July 18, 2025 – Food prices across Canada increased by 2.8% in June 2025 compared to the previous year. This increase is less than the 3.3% rise recorded last month but remains above the overall inflation rate. The decrease in the cost of fresh vegetables, which fell by 3.1%, helped to reduce the financial burden on grocery bills, supported by a favorable transition to more locally sourced products as summer approaches.
Loblaw has released its July Food Inflation report, offering insights into the factors influencing food prices and its expectations for the future.
