The offensive was led by The Times newspaper and Tony Blair’s New Labour Government. LORD ASHCROFT KCMG PC serves as an international businessman, philanthropist, author, and pollster. A former deputy chairman of the Conservative Party, he currently acts as the honorary chairman of the International Democracy Union. His roles include founder and chairman of the Crimestoppers board of trustees, vice-patron of the Intelligence Corps Museum, and chairman of the Ashcroft Technology Academy trustees. Additionally, he is a senior fellow of the International Strategic Studies Association, a life governor of the Royal Humane Society, a former chancellor of Anglia Ruskin University, and a former trustee of Imperial War Museums. An award-winning author, Lord Ashcroft has penned over thirty books, primarily focusing on politics and bravery.
