(SeaPRwire) – Transforming early-stage drug discovery with the NVIDIA BioNeMo Framework
SANTA CLARA, Calif. and PUNE, India, March 17, 2026 — Persistent Systems (BSE: 533179) (NSE: PERSISTENT), a global leader in Digital Engineering and Enterprise Modernization, today announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to speed up the creation and implementation of AI-powered solutions for the Healthcare and Life Sciences (HLS) sector. This partnership is designed to assist HLS organizations in progressing computational drug discovery and enhancing research results through the use of Generative AI and sophisticated analytics.

HLS organizations face growing demands to foster innovation while navigating highly complex, regulated, and data-rich settings. By integrating Persistent’s extensive domain knowledge and engineering skills with the comprehensive NVIDIA AI platform, Life Sciences companies can transition from AI testing to practical production implementations in critical environments.
Persistent will utilize NVIDIA AI Enterprise for specialized Life Sciences research and development applications, such as preclinical studies. The partnership employs AI to simulate and analyze real-world biological and chemical interactions before they occur in physical wet labs by facilitating large-scale, high-fidelity molecular simulation and virtual screening.
Under this agreement, Persistent will develop and implement production-ready Agentic AI applications for computational drug discovery using NVIDIA NeMo. The company has specifically introduced a Generative Molecules and Virtual Screening (GenMoIVS) solution, which runs on the NVIDIA BioNeMo platform and the NVIDIA NeMo Agent Toolkit. The GenMolVS solution will provide AI-based molecular simulations that replicate the physical and chemical characteristics of molecules with large, domain-specific models, and it will generate intelligent agents to optimize real-time drug discovery processes. These agent-driven workflows allow for ongoing decision-making in virtual screening, candidate selection, and subsequent experimental design, aiding research teams in converting digital models into well-informed wet lab tests. This methodology, centered on simulation, helps Life Sciences firms reduce risks in early-stage discovery, shorten experimental timelines, and enhance success rates in later clinical development stages.
Persistent intends to incorporate NVIDIA Nemotron open models to further improve its GenMolVS offering. Additionally, for deploying production-level AI applications, Persistent will employ NVIDIA accelerated computing resources, servers, NVIDIA AI Enterprise, and NVIDIA NIM microservices. These combined technologies will speed up the cost-efficient creation of applications that offer economical scaling, integrating highly precise AI results directly into business workflows. This setup allows for large-scale, production-quality simulation and inference, facilitating immediate scientific decision-making within strict regulatory research frameworks.
This partnership will also allow Persistent to enhance its AI and large language model (LLM) engineering skills by using NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure, training materials, and certification courses to provide clients with more advanced data and AI platforms.
Ganesh Nathella, Executive Vice President and General Manager – HLS Business, Persistent
“Healthcare and Life Sciences organizations must accelerate the discovery of new treatments, but conventional R&D processes are often slow and require significant manual effort. Integrating our GenMolVS solution with NVIDIA’s comprehensive AI platform allows our BioPharma clients to implement generative molecules and virtual screening in a production environment. This shift can reduce discovery timelines from months to mere days, using simulation-based insights to direct actual lab experiments while maintaining strict scientific standards and regulatory adherence.”
John Fanelli, Vice President – Enterprise Software, NVIDIA
“In response to the pressing worldwide need for novel therapies, the healthcare and life sciences sector is quickly adopting AI-powered computational research and discovery. Utilizing the full-stack NVIDIA AI platform, Persistent is equipping biopharmaceutical firms with robust, production-ready agentic systems for molecular simulation and virtual screening.”
