Sixteen Costa Rican firms will present their offerings at the essential COSTA RICA booth, with over six more joining through the Walk to Show format. All are part of the Country Pavilion organized by PROCOMER.

This year marks Costa Rica’s seventh participation in MD&M West, a top-tier event in the worldwide MedTech community that attracts over 1,700 exhibitors and close to 14,000 attendees from more than 40 nations. The country’s involvement seeks to create fresh export and investment leads, solidifying its reputation as a dependable, innovative, and competitive player in medical manufacturing.

“MD&M West serves as an international stage and a crucial part of our plan to boost Costa Rica’s exports and attract greater foreign direct investment. It also provides a strong venue to emphasize the skills of our highly qualified workforce, enabling us to present Costa Rica as a source of not just quality goods, but also knowledge, innovation, and specialized know-how,” stated Laura López, CEO of PROCOMER.

The delegation’s companies provide an extensive range of high-value solutions, such as electronics manufacturing, medical device software and connectivity, precision molds, CNC machining, printing and packaging, engineering consulting, quality and regulatory services, and contract manufacturing for the medical, automotive, and aerospace sectors.

In addition to the exhibition, Costa Rica’s schedule at MD&M West 2026 features private meetings with buyers, investors, and key figures; a Coffee Talk to present the nation’s strengths to MedTech executives; and a special networking area in the Country Pavilion. Notably, the Costa Rica Medical Devices Cluster will play an active part for the first time, enhancing collaboration within the domestic ecosystem.

“Attending MD&M West 2026 is a strategic move for Lantern Med Digital, and being part of PROCOMER’s Country Pavilion is a major advantage. Their support and outstanding coordination not only ease logistical challenges but also affirm our quality on the world stage. We are very grateful for the direction and opportunity they offer to link us with pioneers in medical innovation,” said Albán Sánchez, CEO of Lantern Med Digital.

For multinationals with operations in Costa Rica, the event is a pivotal chance to reinforce bonds and display their in-country capabilities globally. “Taking part in MD&M West 2026 underlines our dedication to being a trustworthy and inventive partner for the MedTech sector. This gathering is a strategic venue to merge technological prowess with a global perspective, while boosting direct interaction with international customers and partners,” said Octavio Matus, General Manager of Zollner Costa Rica.

The United States continues to be Costa Rica’s principal trade partner and top origin of foreign direct investment. California is a foremost center for innovation and jobs in medical manufacturing. Over 90 multinational MedTech companies now have operations in Costa Rica, with numerous headquartered in or serving major U.S. clients, which makes MD&M West an ideal forum to strengthen connections and discover new possibilities.

By November 2025, Costa Rica’s medical device exports had hit US$10.168 billion, a 28% rise from the equivalent period in 2024. Top exported items are medical-use devices, needles, catheters, cannulas, and related products, along with medical prosthetics. Furthermore, more than 100 foreign direct investment companies are established in Costa Rica’s MedTech field.
