(SeaPRwire) –   RPX is making a strategic shift to power Europe’s heavy transport sector using innovative renewable energy solutions, AI software, and Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offerings.

STOCKHOLM, Apr. 10, 2026 — Solar Power Accelerator (SPA) has officially changed its name to Renewable Power Accelerator (RPX), a move that reflects its new strategic focus on speeding up the electrification of Europe’s heavy-duty transport sector with renewable energy.

Depiction of RPX's re-focused offering towards electric heavy duty vehicle transport (eHDT) solutions unlocking locally-sourced 100% renewable electricity.

Established in early 2023, SPA initially concentrated on expanding commercial and industrial rooftop solar installations throughout Sweden, allowing property owners to profit from excess electricity via Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). However, due to evolving market conditions and reduced demand in this area, the company began a strategic transition towards e-mobility in late 2024.

RPX supplies renewable energy, mainly from solar and wind sources, to charging infrastructure for electric heavy-duty trucks (eHDT), with a focus on major transport routes, logistics hubs, and freight terminals throughout Europe.

The transport and logistics industry is currently responsible for over 25% of the EU’s carbon emissions, and the eHDT market is anticipated to expand at roughly a 10% compound annual growth rate until 2035. As regulatory demands intensify and electric trucks are predicted to offer a more favorable total cost of ownership by 2027, the shift towards electrified freight is gaining momentum.

RPX’s comprehensive customer solution guarantees that charging stations receive power exclusively from renewable sources, utilizing onsite microgrids, battery storage, and load balancing, further supported by locally secured Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with prominent European power distributors.

In line with this transformation, RPX is enhancing its platform by introducing two new customer value propositions:

  • AI-automated software: An integrated fleet management application offering features such as navigation planning, energy pricing management, advanced driver assistance systems, and renewable energy certification, with interfaces designed for drivers, charging point operators, and third-party logistics providers.
  • Battery-as-a-Service solutions: A leasing arrangement for end-users, developed in partnership with major truck manufacturers, aimed at achieving total cost of ownership (TCO) equivalence with diesel trucks.

“By incorporating a client-focused software-defined vehicle and infrastructure offering, we reinforce our leadership and enhance our ability to scale the renewable energy transition for electric heavy-duty truck deployment across Europe,” stated Pär-Olof Johannesson, Co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“We are contributing to a larger paradigm shift towards renewable logistics,” William Granelli, Co-founder and Vice President, further commented. “Recent macroeconomic and geopolitical events have underscored the dangers of relying on fossil fuels and the critical need to move towards robust, redundant, and locally sourced renewable energy systems.” As a serial entrepreneur in this field, William Granelli benefited significantly from the guidance of experienced industry professionals in developing this new customer-centric offering.

RPX is presently engaged in project development across the Nordic region, the United Kingdom, Spain, and Poland.

The company is actively seeking funding to support its expansion. Details regarding equity participation and convertible bond note subscriptions can be found at rpx.se.

The change of name received formal approval at an extraordinary general meeting of Solar Power Accelerator AB on April 10, 2026.

Renewable Power Accelerator (RPX) integrates technology and energy to facilitate 100% renewable electricity procurement throughout Europe’s transport sector. The company holds a strategic position where transport electrification, renewable energy generation, energy infrastructure & storage, and software solutions intersect. This convergence presents a multi-billion-euro market opportunity, fueled by EU regulatory requirements, corporate decarbonization goals, increasing fossil fuel price instability, and swift technological progress.
