MIAMI, Dec. 26, 2025 — Miami Beach ranks as the world’s most expensive destination for New Year’s Eve accommodations, according to a survey by .

The survey compared hotel prices across 60 major global cities. For each location, it tracked the cost of the least expensive double room for a three-night stay from December 30 through January 2. Only centrally situated hotels with a minimum three-star rating were considered.

Miami Beach topped the rankings with a rate of $1,187 for the cheapest room. Travelers will pay a staggering 197% more for overnight stays there compared to typical January rates.

Rio de Janeiro and New York City are only slightly more affordable, rounding out the top three with three-night rates of $1,172 and $1,164, respectively.

When compared to 2022—the last time the survey was conducted—Bangkok saw the largest percentage increase in New Year’s Eve hotel rates, rising 94%. Significant jumps were also recorded in Copenhagen (+67%) and Vienna (+85%).

Conversely, Phnom Penh experienced the sharpest decline in rates, with prices down over 60% from three years ago. The Cambodian capital is also the cheapest city to spend New Year’s Eve among those surveyed, at just $20 per night.

Below is a list of the world’s 10 most expensive New Year’s Eve accommodation destinations this year. Prices represent the cost of the cheapest available double room for December 30–January 2. Each city’s price increase relative to regular January rates is included.
