LOS ANGELES, March 9, 2026 — The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA), represented by its Los Angeles Office, put on a lively, high-spirited showing at the 2026 Los Angeles Travel & Adventure Show. Hosted at the Long Beach Convention Center from March 7 to 8, thousands of Southern California travelers flocked to the Taiwan pavilion during the event, where they learned why Taiwan keeps emerging as one of Asia’s most thrilling and easy-to-reach destinations. On the show’s opening day, the Taiwan pavilion was presented with the event’s “Best in Show – International” award, marking it as one of the top exhibits at the 2026 Travel & Adventure Show.
The Taiwan booth, positioned prominently at the exhibition hall entrance, drew consistent crowds throughout the two-day event. Under the global brand “Taiwan – Waves of Wonder,” guests were invited to discover the island’s dynamic mix of natural scenery, culinary heritage, modern urban areas, and long-standing traditions.
A Booth Full of Fun
Crafted to be playful, colorful, and immediately recognizable, the Taiwan pavilion boasted a large bubble tea cup installation—complete with Taiwan Tourism’s beloved mascot OhBear seemingly taking a sip from it. This eye-catching display quickly turned into one of the show’s most sought-after photo spots, prompting attendees to capture and share their Taiwan-themed moments. Guests could also step into an AI Photo Booth that created customized Taiwan travel scenes, letting them bring home an AI-generated preview of their future Taiwan trip.
Attendees could dive into Taiwan’s vibrant culture through interactive activities that captured the spirit of its night markets and creative customs. These included:
- DIY Taiwan pin badge creation
- DIY paper Taiwanese douli hat making
- Lucky red envelope giveaways with QR codes that produced digital blessings and surprise presents
These hands-on experiences introduced travelers to Taiwan’s welcoming culture while blending tradition with modern engagement.
Performances by the Formosan Dance Crew brought bursts of energy to the entire weekend. The group delivered dynamic routines set to a blend of modern and classic Taiwanese pop tracks, performing both at the Taiwan pavilion and on the show’s World Beats Stage. Their shows drew enthusiastic crowds and introduced attendees to Taiwan’s lively contemporary pop culture.
An interactive AI travel quiz held throughout the weekend kept visitors engaged further, providing a fun way to learn about Taiwan’s culture, destinations, and travel offerings.
Taiwan Tourism Administration representatives were present all weekend to offer practical travel details. They emphasized convenient flight connections, efficient transport options such as the High Speed Rail and metro systems, and available special travel perks. Highlighted promotions included a free half-day tour for qualifying transit passengers (halfdaytour.taiwan.net.tw), Taiwan Pass travel deals (twpass.tw), and airport shopping vouchers for transit travelers (bit.ly/TransitInTaiwan).
Airline and Industry Participation
Taiwan’s strong air connectivity to North America was underscored by the presence of all three of its international airlines—China Airlines, EVA Air, and STARLUX Airlines—at the booth. Airline reps shared updates on routes, onboard amenities, and special fares, strengthening Taiwan’s status as both an attractive destination and a gateway hub to Asia.
Adding to the excitement, the airlines sponsored lucky draws during the event, giving away roundtrip tickets to Taiwan. These draws drew enthusiastic crowds eager for a chance to experience Taiwan in person.
Engaging Local Travel Trade
On the exhibition’s opening day, TTA participated in the FAM-TAS travel trade luncheon. There, reps from Taiwan Tourism and the three airlines presented Taiwan’s key selling points to travel advisors and industry experts. They stressed Taiwan’s appeal for outdoor adventure, culinary exploration, cultural discovery, and LGBTQ+ welcoming travel, while pointing out convenient access from major U.S. gateways.
Vivian Lin, Director of the Taiwan Tourism Administration’s Los Angeles Office, emphasized Taiwan’s diverse travel appeal. “Taiwan provides an amazing array of experiences from sunrise to late night, with something new to find around every corner,” she stated. “From breathtaking natural scenery and lively cities to cultural traditions and unforgettable cuisine, travelers can explore Taiwan on their own terms. We invite visitors to try the many ways to discover Taiwan and craft their own unforgettable journey.”
Next Stop: Dallas
Building on successful appearances in Phoenix and Los Angeles, the Taiwan Tourism Administration is continuing its U.S. outreach at the Dallas Travel & Adventure Show. Scheduled for March 28–29, 2026, at Dallas Market Hall, the event will again feature an engaging Taiwan pavilion. Guests can expect cultural activities, travel perks, airline partnerships, and a chance to win round-trip flights to Taiwan.
