About the Lawsuit

TD and some executives face allegations of failing to disclose vital information during the class period, violating federal securities laws. 

On October 10, 2024, TD announced settlements from U.S. government investigations into its anti-money laundering (AML) program compliance. This included a $3.09 billion penalty, a $434 billion asset cap for its two U.S. subsidiaries, and stricter approval processes for new offerings to mitigate AML risks.

Following this news, TD’s share price dropped from $63.51 on October 9, 2024 to $59.44 on October 10, 2024, and further to $57.01 on October 11, 2024.

The initial lawsuit is Tiessen v. The Toronto-Dominion Bank, et al., No. 24-cv-08032. A later case, Gonzalez v. The Toronto-Dominion Bank, et al., No. 24-cv-09445, extended the class period.
