WSIB and OCEU Reach Preliminary Agreement, Ending Labour Dispute

TORONTO, July 5, 2025 – The WSIB is pleased to announce that a preliminary agreement has been reached with the Ontario Compensation Employees Union (OCEU). The WSIB anticipates the return of its entire workforce within one day of a successful vote to ratify the agreement.

I commend our team’s efforts over the past few weeks and eagerly await the reunion so we can continue supporting Ontarians in need.”

As regular operations resume, individuals can still access services 24/7 to:

  • Report workplace injuries or illnesses
  • Submit documents related to existing claims
  • View real-time claim, payment, and health benefit details
  • Register new businesses
  • Obtain clearances

The WSIB offers workplace injury and illness coverage to over 5.3 million individuals in more than 300,000 Ontario workplaces. In the event of a work-related injury or illness, the WSIB provides income replacement, medical benefits, and support to facilitate return to work. Funded by Ontario businesses, the WSIB also offers collective liability insurance without regard to fault and access to health and safety information specific to various industries.
