WASHINGTON, Jan. 22, 2026 — On January 21, 2026, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Incorporated, among the nation’s largest women’s service organizations, announced the start of the 2026 Honorary Member inductions into the Alpha Omega chapter. Today, the Sorority is pleased to reveal that the chapter will now include a notable woman who has shown exceptional dedication to civic involvement and furthering Zeta Phi Beta Sorority’s core tenets of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood.

“Zeta remains committed to demonstrating excellence and leadership by inducting unique, pioneering women through undergraduate chapters, graduate chapters, and honorary membership in the Alpha Omega chapter,” stated Gina Merritt-Epps, Esq., International First Vice President for Membership of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. “Our latest member will join Zetas across the globe as we collaborate to strengthen our communities.”

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, is pleased to name Stephanie Mills as its latest honorary member. This soulful artist has embedded her captivating voice into the tapestry of American music, captivating audiences for decades. At 17, Mills took on the iconic role of Dorothy in the original Broadway production of The Wiz, stepping into the silver slippers that became a symbol of the show. Her five-year portrayal of the beloved character introduced her exceptional talent to the world and earned her widespread critical praise. She later found success in recording, with gold and platinum-selling albums, along with Grammy and American Music Awards, solidifying her status as a key figure in R&B and soul. In 2015, she returned to her Broadway beginnings, and she is currently touring with The Queen’s Tour: 4 Legends, 1 Stage. Beyond her career, Mills is deeply involved in philanthropy and advocacy. She established The 444LOVE Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on supporting individuals with special needs, and has long leveraged her platform to advocate for social justice and give voice to marginalized communities.
