On the first anniversary of the Hamas terrorist attack that ignited the war, multiple rockets were launched from the Gaza Strip towards Israel, Israeli officials announced on Monday.
Military officials confirmed that the Israeli Air Force intercepted five rocket launches originating from the northern Gaza Strip that crossed into Israel. Two individuals sustained minor injuries from shrapnel.

Prior to the attack, Israeli troops conducted strikes against Hamas terror targets and launchers throughout the Gaza Strip to preempt an imminent threat, according to the military.
“A short while ago, the Israel Air Force (IAF) struck Hamas launch posts and underground terrorist infrastructure,” the IDF reported. “Furthermore, overnight, the IAF and IDF artillery targeted locations in the central Gaza Strip that posed a threat to IDF forces operating in the area.”

Hamas continues to hold 101 hostages in Gaza since the war began, including the bodies of 36 individuals declared dead.
Idan Shtivi, a 28-year-old volunteer photographer who documented the Nova music festival in southern Israel targeted by Hamas on Oct. 7, was declared dead on Monday.
Idan, an environmental sciences student, was passionate about nature, camping, and music. He had plans to work in the energy sector to combat climate change and participate in an African volunteer program assisting children.
“On October 7, Idan arrived at the Nova Festival in the early morning to document his friends’ performances and workshops. However, he never made it inside,” the Hostages and Missing Families Forum said in a statement. “When the attack began, Idan helped two strangers he had just met escape from the site. This selfless choice ultimately led to his abduction.”
