Maryland’s March sports betting handle sees increase

US.- Maryland Lottery and Gaming has announced that the state’s sports betting handle reached $604.7 million in March. This represents a 2.8 per cent year-on-year increase and is higher than February’s handle of $515.6 million.

The report indicates that $595.2 million was wagered online, with an additional $9.5 million bet at retail locations. Player winnings amounted to $542 million, leaving operators with a 10.4 per cent hold on the total handle.

The sports betting market contributed $8.8 million to the state. Of this amount, $6.6 million was allocated to the Blueprint Fund, and $2.2 million in mobile proceeds went to the General Fund.

The state’s six casinos collectively generated $168.1 million in revenue from slot machines and table games. This figure is a 2.3 per cent decrease year-on-year but shows an increase from February’s revenue of $148.5 million.
