Baguio, Benguet towns impose stricter border control

FOLLOWING the continuous rise of Covid-19 cases, Baguio City and nearby towns of La Trinidad–Itogon–Sablan–Tuba–Tublay (BLISST) will impose stricter border control.

The temporary restricted access between and among the BLISTT effective February 1 to 15, 2021, aims to limit the non-essential movement of people.

In a public advisory, all inter–BLISTT travelers, for travel or to avail of essential goods and services, should present medical certificates or medical clearances issued by any licensed physician affirming that the resident has not exhibited flu–like symptoms as of the time of assessment. The said medical certificate or clearance has a validity of 10 days.

Persons traveling for medical appointments or consultation need to only show proof of their confirmed appointments, while those with immediate medical emergencies will be allowed to pass through freely.

Cargo and logistics services, water, electricity and communications, Information Technology and waste management will likewise be given unhampered passage provided their personnel maintain a no–contact policy and strictly observe minimum public health standards at all times.

Non-resident travelers coming to BLISTT from other areas must present their travel authorities/permits and medical certificates issued in their place of origin.

The agreement was signed by all Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong and mayors Romeo Salda of La Trinidad, Victorio Palangdan of Itogon, Manuel Munar Jr. of Sablan, Armando Lauro of Tublay and Clarita Sallongan on January 26. (SunStar Baguio)
