(SeaPRwire) –   ADM and Air Transat have teamed up to provide families of children with autism spectrum disorder or functional limitations a chance to get comfortable with airport procedures and the onboard flight experience.

MONTRÉAL, April 12, 2026 – The 12th edition of the Premium Kids program at YUL Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, organized by ADM Aéroports de Montréal alongside Air Transat, was held in a spirit of joy and laughter. This special event helps children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or functional limitations, along with their families, practice the airport journey and aircraft boarding to reduce travel-related stress.

This year’s event saw nearly 200 participants go through the standard airport sequence, including arrival, security checks, boarding, and listening to the onboard safety briefing.

“ADM is honored to host Premium Kids once again, as it reflects our dedication to creating a more inclusive and accessible airport environment,” stated Jérôme Conraud, ADM’s Vice President of Strategy, Planning, and Sustainability. “By experiencing a realistic airport simulation in a supportive atmosphere, these children and their parents gain the confidence to potentially fly as a family in the future. This initiative is vital to ADM, and I am grateful to the volunteers and partners who ensured its success.”

“Programs like Premium Kids, driven by our staff and long-term partners like ADM, are crucial for reducing family anxiety and fostering a smoother travel experience. As part of our commitment to accessibility and improvement, we recognize the airport journey as a pivotal moment for travelers with functional limitations. This underscores the significance of events like Premium Kids, and Air Transat is proud to continue its support,” said Andréan Gagné, Senior Director of Communications, Public Affairs, and Corporate Responsibility at Transat.

In addition to Air Transat, a founding partner, several organizations contributed to the event’s success: Autisme Montréal; Giant Steps; Transport Canada; the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA); the Canadian Air Transport Security Authority (CATSA); GardaWorld; Sûreté du Québec; HMSHost; and the Montréal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel.

Held during Autism Awareness Month, this program is modeled after Wings for Autism, established in 2011 by the Charles River Center and the Massachusetts Port Authority. In 2013, ADM became the first Canadian airport authority to launch such an initiative at YUL.
