(SeaPRwire) – Company also announces Stephen Milligan will not stand for re-election to board of directors
SAN FRANCISCO, April 24, 2026 — Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) announced today that its Board of Directors has put forward Omar Abbosh as a nominee for a new independent director position, to be voted on by shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting.
Abbosh is an internationally recognized leader in business and technology, currently holding the position of chief executive officer at Pearson. Before joining Pearson, he occupied high-level executive positions at Microsoft and Accenture, focusing on the convergence of technology, strategic planning, and major business transformations.
“Omar’s background as a CEO with a strong emphasis on leveraging AI to enhance customer experience throughout the entire SasS lifecycle will be a significant asset to Autodesk,” stated Smith. “We are delighted to nominate him to the board and are eager for the insights he will contribute as Autodesk persists in its mission to assist customers in designing and building a better world.”
“Autodesk plays a crucial part in aiding its customers to manage change and succeed in an increasingly interconnected, data-driven world,” Abbosh commented. “I am enthusiastic about the possibility of joining the board and supporting the company as it progresses its strategy, serves its customer base, and generates long-term value.”
In a separate announcement, Autodesk disclosed that Stephen Milligan has notified the board of his decision not to seek re-election to the Board of Directors at the forthcoming annual general meeting. Milligan will remain a director until his current term ends.
“Speaking for the entire board, I extend our gratitude to Stephen for his dedication and numerous contributions to Autodesk,” said Stacy Smith, chair of Autodesk’s Board of Directors. “Stephen provided the board with invaluable insights drawn from his extensive financial and executive leadership background, and we are thankful for his guidance in shaping Autodesk’s strategy and governance. We extend our best wishes to him.”
Milligan is a veteran technology executive with considerable experience leading public companies and has been a member of the company’s audit committee throughout his time on the board.
After Milligan’s departure and Abbosh’s anticipated election, Autodesk’s Board will maintain its size of 11 directors, with 10 being independent, after the annual meeting concludes.
Details regarding the director nominations for the annual general meeting will be outlined in Autodesk’s proxy statement, which will be submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
