Elena Baturina, Founder of BE OPEN

Throughout 2025, BE OPEN Art’s Art Limitless initiative concentrated on promoting diversity and accessibility within the artistic community. Running from May through October 2025, the Art Limitless Competition engaged BE OPEN’s specialist network to identify and curate pieces created by artists with disabilities, highlighting how creativity fosters inclusion.

Curated pieces were displayed monthly in the digital gallery, with visitors participating in polls to choose a monthly featured artist. Based on combined public and community voting results, one recipient has been awarded the top prize. We congratulate the 1000 euro grant recipient, , a multidisciplinary creator focusing on identity, self-acceptance, and LGBTQ+ celebration. Their bold, high-contrast canvases defy conventional standards while promoting representation for underrepresented groups. They are completing their studies in Sheridan College’s Visual and Creative Arts diploma program, graduating in 2025.

The 500 euro Founder’s Choice award goes to , a Cypriot visual creator and exhibition organizer. Her diverse artistic approach examines physical presence, recollection, and selfhood via painting, three-dimensional installations, and cooperative ventures. As an artist with disabilities serving on the Cyprus Myopathy Association board, Fotini challenges mainstream disability views through her creations while pushing for broader artistic accessibility.

An additional online poll designated another recipient—the 300 euro prize awarded to , an American creator, academic researcher, and exhibition organizer. Her participatory installations and multimedia compositions investigate connections between Disability Studies, religious thought, and social intersectionality. Rooted in personal encounters with numerous hidden health conditions, her artistic focus emphasizes bodily and global interdependence, endurance, and intricacy.

BE OPEN Founder Elena Baturina shared her thoughts on the project’s results: “Inclusive arts serve as a vital creative instrument, helping individuals unlock their artistic capabilities, fostering self-representation for people with disabilities, increasing compassion and understanding, enhancing dialogue, and motivating constructive transformation. For BE OPEN, backing inclusive creators offers fresh viewpoints and societal outlooks. We trust these grants will encourage artists to continue envisioning, producing, and pursuing their passions, while engaging viewers in crucial and significant conversations.”

BE OPEN intends to persist in examining eco-conscious art practices during 2026 through a program devoted to sustainable artistic production methods.
