BOSTON, Dec. 1, 2025 — Broco Energy, a leading energy supplier in New England and a well-known clean-energy partner, is pleased to announce that its renewable diesel pilot program with the Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) has transitioned into a formal, long-term contract. This agreement, effective December 1st, represents a significant achievement as New England’s first renewable diesel supply agreement.

After a competitive bidding process, Broco was awarded the contract, surpassing several larger industry competitors. This underscores its standing as a dependable and innovative energy partner for vital infrastructure throughout Massachusetts.

According to the contract, Broco Energy will deliver renewable diesel to fuel a variety of Massport’s crucial activities, including:

  • Logan Airport shuttle buses (Logan Express)
  • Maintenance vehicles and groundskeeping equipment
  • Baggage handling vehicles, generators, and related systems
  • Fire engines and emergency response teams
  • All Massport-owned diesel-powered equipment

The one-year agreement involves Broco Energy supplying an estimated 1.2 million gallons of renewable diesel to Massport’s operations.

Compared to traditional petroleum diesel, renewable diesel significantly lowers greenhouse gas emissions and supports clean-heat standards that are emerging in the Northeast.

“We are honored to transition from our pilot program to a full contract with Massport,” said Robert Brown, President of Broco Energy. “Since early 2024, our team has collaborated closely with Massport to prepare for this transition, investing in infrastructure improvements, injection blending capabilities, and increased fixed storage. This contract is a major accomplishment and demonstrates our commitment to promoting clean-energy adoption across New England.”

This agreement signifies a substantial competitive win for Broco, showcasing its unique capacity to manage both the delivery (downstream) and distribution (midstream) of renewable fuels. Broco’s approach utilizes specialized rail shipments of American-made renewable diesel, enhancing regional supply security and establishing the company as a leader in sustainable fuel distribution in the Northeast.

This partnership further enhances Broco’s presence in the Boston area and aligns with significant clean-energy initiatives underway throughout the region.
