On May 23, under clear skies, attendees from throughout Germany and beyond converged on Düsseldorf’s city center to honor Japanese culture and fellowship.
From Rheinpark to the Rheinkniebrücke, guests explored a diverse array of cultural attractions, spanning from classical Japanese arts and contemporary pop culture to sports. The enlarged venue, which extended into Rheinpark, proved particularly popular, helping to facilitate better crowd movement, a calmer environment, and an enhanced overall experience for the large number of visitors. The new drinking water stations supplied by Stadtwerke Düsseldorf were also widely praised during the event.
A key attraction on the Burgplatz main stage was the show by Japanese J-Rock group MIKAGE PROJECT, which provided a stunning conclusion to the live entertainment. The festivities ended with the customary Japanese fireworks show, themed “What a wonderful world – A firework display full of joy,” offering a fitting and unforgettable end to the 23rd Japan Day.
