GRANTS PASS, Ore., May 24, 2024 — Dutch Bros and its customers came together on Friday, May 17, for the 18th annual Drink One for Dane to support the (MDA) and its mission to end Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). We’re stoked to share that the Dutch Bros Foundation has donated $2.5 million to the MDA.
“Drink One for Dane is a notable illustration of how brands driven by purpose can tangibly impact Muscular Dystrophy Association’s mission to finish ALS. The enthusiastic support from Dutch Bros’ crews and customers offers our community hope and determination. This donation of $2.5 million clearly shows the power of our benevolent community. Working together, we’re generating money to improve care and research, and raising awareness to engage more individuals in the fight for an ALS-free future,” explained Morgan Roth, chief marketing officer at Muscular Dystrophy Association.
Dutch Bros was created by brothers, Dane and Travis Boersma. Sadly, Dane lost his life to ALS in 2009. In response to his diagnosis, Dutch Bros and the Boersma family launched Drink One for Dane with the aim of raising awareness about ALS and advancing research for a cause and cure.
“Drink One for Dane would be impossible without our customers’ incredible support every year,” said Christine Barone, chief executive officer at Dutch Bros. “We’re honored to contribute to all the work the Muscular Dystrophy Association does and will continue to do.”
*Additional donations from vendors, community members, customers, and franchisees during the Drink One for Dane campaign are included in total funds donated.
