- New property leases in the region have been secured, supplementing the previously announced agreement
- The relocation of Stockholm-based operations is projected to begin in 2028 and span over a multi-year period
(SeaPRwire) – STOCKHOLM, May 25, 2026 — Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) has announced its decision to move its Stockholm-based operations, including its corporate headquarters, from Kista to Hagastaden, located on the northern edge of the city. This relocation aims to establish a modern, appealing workspace designed to foster collaboration and attract top-tier future talent.
The transition of Ericsson’s staff from Kista is projected to commence in early 2028 and will unfold over several years. The current Kista facilities house research and development, business units, corporate functions, and the Imagine Studio—Ericsson’s dedicated technology exhibition, meeting, and collaboration hub for clients, partners, VIPs, industry stakeholders, and events.
Börje Ekholm, President and CEO of Ericsson, stated: “We have thoroughly assessed the kind of facilities and environment that will best serve the long-term requirements of our Stockholm operations and workforce. Situated dynamically at the center of the city’s tech innovation and partnership hub—offering seamless connection to our evolving business network, partners, and key stakeholders—Hagastaden is the ideal choice for our future setup. This bustling urban campus will also bolster our ability to draw in the industry’s brightest future minds.”
Additionally, Ericsson announced today that it has entered into lease agreements with Atrium Ljungberg and Castellum for sites in Hagastaden. These newly finalized leases cover five distinct properties in the district, totaling roughly 71,000 square meters.
Under the agreement with Atrium Ljungberg, Ericsson will lease three properties: Wave (22,000 sq m), Corner of Ekeblad (23,000 sq m), and Trinity (13,000 sq m). From Castellum, the company will lease Emerald House (9,500 sq m) and Jubileumshuset (3,500 sq m).
Prior to this, Ericsson secured a lease with Castellum for the 24,000-square-meter Infinity property in Hagastaden. Currently under development, this site consists of two interconnected structures and is slated for completion by the end of 2027.
Although these leases have been secured, Ericsson is still finalizing its ultimate footprint in Hagastaden to fully establish the new campus.
Ekholm added: “The upcoming Ericsson City Campus in Hagastaden will serve as an exceptional work environment, specifically crafted to drive greater collaboration and innovation. It will also act as a premier showcase for our international clients, embedding Ericsson directly into the vibrant life of Stockholm.”
The transition to Hagastaden will occur in stages over a multi-year period, beginning in 2028. Ericsson plans to keep its staff regularly informed as the relocation progress unfolds.
