Most so-called Pride Month music drops are lazy, low-effort cash grabs. Artists repurpose old tracks, slap rainbow art on the cover, and call it allyship. Very few releases carry actual creative weight or tie to long-term business plans. Michael Feinstein’s new “Gaymen” anthem breaks that pattern entirely, for reasons most casual listeners will miss at first glance.

The official announcement frames the track as a simple Pride celebration. It dropped June 5, 2026 out of Los Angeles, features lead vocals from rising artist motherfather, and a special guest spot from Liza Minnelli. It blends affectionate parody, humor, and themes of faith and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community, and is available on all major streaming platforms. The unstated goal here is far bigger: the track is the inaugural release for FeinDaye, Feinstein’s new independent entertainment venture with Broadway performer Bobby Daye. A high-profile Pride drop cuts through far more noise than a dry corporate launch announcement.
Official details note FeinDaye will develop original recordings, live experiences, theatrical works, and creative projects centered on artistry, inclusivity, and joy. The venture is represented exclusively by Carrberry Companies in association with v2 Entertainment Group, with single artwork created by artist Manny Pantoja. The subtext here is clear: Feinstein is targeting a cross-generational queer audience underserved by major labels. The track’s focus on faith also fills a gap for queer people of faith that most mainstream Pride content completely ignores.
Inclusive, cross-generational independent entertainment ventures like FeinDaye will carve out a growing, loyal audience share that major labels have long ignored and can no longer recapture.
