AKRON, Ohio, March 14, 2026 — In less than 24 hours after winds of over 70 mph swept through Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland, power has been brought back to nearly 478,000 of the roughly 655,400 FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE: FE) customers who lost electricity following Friday’s storm. FirstEnergy crews, with the support of outside staff, are working non – stop to restore service to all affected customers.

FirstEnergy’s service areas in Ohio and western Pennsylvania took the brunt of the storm, with extensive damage to trees and equipment. Although fallen trees and closed roads can slow down the restoration process, crews will work around the clock to carry out repairs safely and restore service. Due to the severity of the damage and the continuing windy conditions in some areas, the restoration work is expected to go on in the next few days.

Consider all fallen or low – hanging power lines to be live and dangerous. Keep a distance of at least 30 feet and be extra careful where lines are caught in trees or debris. Report fallen lines to 9 – 1 – 1 as soon as possible.

More than 3,400 outside contractor line and forestry workers, hazard response teams, public safety officers and other support staff are helping nearly 3,380 FirstEnergy employees in the restoration work. The company is still collaborating with mutual aid organizations to get more help.

Estimated restoration times (ETRs) will be determined today. Many customers will have their power restored earlier than the ETR, depending on the damage level in their area. ETRs will be shared on our outage maps when they are available.

Current outage updates as of 1 p.m. today are as follows:

  • Stay at least 30 feet away from fallen power lines. Report them to 9 – 1 – 1 as soon as possible.
  • Don’t remove debris from electrical equipment.
  • Keep generators outside. Disconnect the power supply to your home to avoid sending power back to the lines and endangering workers. Check out more generator safety tips.
  • Use flashlights or battery – powered lanterns instead of candles.
  • Never use gas stoves, grills or outdoor heaters for heating – they can produce deadly carbon monoxide.
