GUANGZHOU, China, Dec. 20, 2024 — On December 18, GAC Group introduced its new flying car brand, GOVY, and showcased its inaugural model, the GOVY AirJet, at a launch event. This launch signifies GAC’s entry into low-altitude mobility and establishes its leadership in integrated aerial transportation.

GOVY will focus on the research, manufacturing, sales, and service of flying cars and related technologies. The brand leverages GAC’s automotive expertise, advanced in-house technologies, and intelligent platforms to offer comprehensive solutions for urban and intercity travel.

Innovative Design

The GOVY AirJet, a composite-wing flying car, blends the efficiency of fixed-wing aircraft with the vertical takeoff capabilities of multi-rotor systems. Its lightweight, durable construction uses over 90% carbon fiber composite materials. GAC’s high-efficiency electric drive system powers the AirJet, enabling a top speed of 250 km/h, a range exceeding 200 km, and a 30-minute recharge time. Future models may offer ranges up to 400 km using solid-state battery technology.

The AirJet features a luxurious “1+1+X” seating arrangement, autonomous flight capabilities, and a “PIXEL GALAXY” starlight roof. Advanced safety measures, including redundant power and control systems, real-time monitoring, and obstacle avoidance, prioritize passenger safety.

Integrated Mobility Ecosystem

GAC also unveiled its Robo-AirTaxi system, a comprehensive ground and air transportation network. Short-distance travel (under 20 km) will use the multi-rotor GOVY AirCar, while longer trips (up to 200 km) will utilize the AirJet. The goal is a streamlined “40-minute Greater Bay Area life circle,” reducing travel times and costs.

GAC aims to achieve airworthiness certification, establish production lines, and begin taking pre-orders for its flying cars by 2025, accelerating the commercialization of low-altitude mobility. GOVY embodies GAC’s dedication to innovation in urban air travel, offering efficient and intelligent solutions. With demonstration operations planned for 2-3 Greater Bay Area cities by 2027, GAC is poised to revolutionize urban transportation through advanced technologies, leading to a smarter, safer, and more sustainable transportation future.
