SHENZHEN, China, April 7, 2025 — Gartner’s 2025 Magic Quadrant for Data Center Switching has named Huawei as a Leader. Huawei’s “Completeness of Vision” received the highest positioning.

In 2025, Huawei will focus on three key upgrades for its data center network:
Enhanced Xinghe Intelligent Fabric Solution
Data center networks are evolving significantly due to advancements in AI and cloud architectures. Huawei’s updated Xinghe Intelligent Fabric Solution features a three-layer design: AI Brain, AI Connection, and AI NEs.
- AI Brain: Huawei’s unique network digital map and NetMaster network large model streamline automated process deployment, integrated network and security simulation, and automated troubleshooting for 80% of issues, greatly improving operational efficiency.
- AI Connection: The innovative network scale load balancing (NSLB) algorithm optimizes path selection, removes performance bottlenecks, and increases AI training efficiency by more than 10%. Furthermore, iReliable three-level reliability technology and optical module channel loss resistance ensure uninterrupted service.
- AI NEs: Utilizing CloudEngine series switches and StarryLink optical modules, Huawei provides precise traffic awareness and visual monitoring of network packet loss and latency.
New CloudEngine Series Switches
Huawei has launched the CloudEngine XH9330, the industry’s most dense 128*800GE fixed Ethernet switch, along with the CloudEngine XH9230, the world’s first 128*400GE liquid-cooled fixed switch. These switches offer an unparalleled number of high-density ports, overcoming the scaling limitations of AI clusters. Additionally, Huawei’s iFlashboot technology allows for continuous training, even during abnormal restarts and upgrades.
StarryLink Optical Modules
At MWC 2025, Huawei showcased its StarryLink optical modules for data center networks, highlighting three main strengths:
- Spanning: Huawei uses a special optical path coupling algorithm to manage and improve signal power distribution, ensuring maximum transmission power. This results in transmission distances twice as long as the industry standard.
- Stable: Huawei’s exclusive short-distance optical return loss positioning technology enables the location of dirty or loose optical links within minutes, significantly faster than the industry average of three hours. The exclusive channel loss resistance technology also guarantees continuous training, even if a link is disconnected.
- Secure: The exclusive PHYSEC physical layer encryption capability is integrated into the optical module’s oDSP, encrypting all packets completely and eliminating the possibility of data breaches.
Driving Enterprise Networks into the Digital Intelligent Era
Looking forward, Huawei is dedicated to further research and product development in the data center network field. By expanding the CloudEngine data center switch offerings and promoting technological advancements, Huawei aims to guide businesses through the changing landscape of network technology, building a strong infrastructure for their data-driven intelligent transformation.
