The Global Digital Innovation Network (GDIN), led by CEO Jongkap Kim, reports highly successful results from its 2024 Overseas Expansion Support Program. This program, supporting early-stage tech firms, demonstrates GDIN’s dedication to South Korea’s tech sector.
Established by the Ministry of Science and ICT, GDIN has been a key part of the startup community for over a decade, supporting more than 3,000 companies since 2013, including Sendbird and Riiid (both valued over USD 1 billion). Fifteen companies have achieved successful exits through mergers, acquisitions, or KOSDAQ IPOs.
In 2024, GDIN assisted 122 startups with 1,860 consulting sessions in areas like legal compliance, intellectual property, accounting, and marketing. Thirteen global technology matching events connected 69 Korean startups with international partners across AI, fintech, green tech, and digital healthcare.
The program’s success is reflected in approximately USD 140 million in secured international investments (part of a total USD 246.6 million in funding), 193 international business contracts, and 14 newly established overseas subsidiaries.
GDIN recognized several high-achieving companies. Tilda, an AI-driven industrial optimization solutions provider, received the Minister of Science and ICT Award, showcasing its solutions at events like the GSMA DX Leaders CxO Summit, Sushitech Tokyo, and GITEX, and is expanding into Japan.
Other successful startups—Nearthlab, Nota AI, EverEx, Inocras, Codepresso, Petnow, Bloomsbury Lab, Telepix, and Rebellions—were accepted into GDIN’s 2025 program. Lumir, which had a successful KOSDAQ debut, received a Special Award.
CEO Jongkap Kim stated that global interest in Korean technology is high, and GDIN will continue to support startups in international markets.
